1885 – Indian National Congress, a political party of India is founded in Bombay, India.
1895 – The Lumière brothers showed their film for paying audience at the Grand Cafe in Boulevard des Capucines, marking the debut of the cinema.
1895 – Wilhelm Röntgen published a paper detailing his discovery of a new type of radiation, which was later named as x-rays.
1906 - Ecuador adopts its constitution
1950 - Chinese troops crossed 38th Parallel, into South Korea
1970 - Yemen Arab Republic (North Yemen) adopted constitution
1973 - Alexander Solzhenitsyn published "Gulag Archipelago"
